Common Methods of Pruning and Removing Trees
Crown Thinning: selective removal of branches to increase light and air through the canopy and reduce wind resistance commonly known as the “sail effect.”
Crown Reduction: reducing the overall size of a tree crown while maintaining the essential shape. This can be accomplished by making reduction or heading cuts and may be suited to the site the tree is growing in, to solve a problem of tree roots in proximity to buildings or to remove excessive dead wood.
Crown Raising: removal of lower limbs to provide clearance or increase light.
Dead Wooding: removal of dead, diseased and broken limbs.
Sectional Felling: safe, efficient dismantling of large dead wood and unwanted trees in confined spaces.
Felling Standing Trees: felling whole trees where there is no threat to people or buildings.
